Pedagogical Expertise

The diversity that characterizes societies shaped by migration raises new questions for schools as well as for extracurricular and non-formal educational facilities. Educators and multipliers active at educational and cultural institutions are looking for new concepts and approaches to addressing diversity. Professional development is therefore increasingly concentrating on fostering sensitivity to diversity and discrimination.

The media collected in our digital archive are designed to support educators and multipliers in creating and shaping educational programs, curricula and processes. We provide relevant literature, studies and recommendations.

What do educators need for everyday practice? What knowledge do educators and multipliers require to be able to design educational processes in pluralist societies? How can educators and multipliers be active professionally? What themes should they be able to reflect on?

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie: The Danger of a Single Story

“Stories matter. Many stories matter. Stories have been used to dispossess and to malign, but stories can also be used to empower and to humanize. Stories can break the dignity of a people, but stories can also repair that broken dignity.” (Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie 2009)
