Schools

The student body in German schools is diverse. More and more schools are acknowledging this fact and responding by reforming their institutions and adapting their curricula. They’re developing learning models that display sensitivity towards diversity. They’re exploring new concepts, questioning their established routines and making their structures more participatory, multilingual and inclusive. In taking this approach, they acknowledge that contemporary German society is deeply influenced by migration, and they accept this fact as a norm they have the power to actively foster and shape.

This requires that educators rethink educational content, learning methods, curricula, textbooks and the traditional canon of knowledge.
