The Reich President Friedrich Ebert Memorial Foundation, headquartered in Heidelberg, is one of seven federal political memorial foundations. The purpose of the foundation is to preserve the memory of the work of the first German Reich President Friedrich Ebert and to contribute to the understanding of German history of his time.
In 1989, the Friedrich Ebert House opened its doors with a 275 square meter exhibition on the life and times of Friedrich Ebert. This permanent exhibition underwent a revision in terms of content, concept and design in the 2000s and was reopened in 2007.
